This show reached my house last year.
I thought I had this show on video for years in a trade but when I compared both shows this went out to be different.
I authored for a friend as a gift and thought it would be a good idea to give it away on MURMURS.

The VHS video cassette is converted into dvd with Edius-> Procoder 2-> Encore 2.0 4x3 Pal DVD max. bitrate

The show runs only 33 minutes. The picture quality is a bit dark but what can you expect with a videocamera out of 1983!!!
The filmer and girlfriend are standing frontrow so the sound isn't that brilliant but it gives you the idea you're also frontrow in 1983.
Michael has a nice bandana in his hair ....Thank gothe's a burgler now!!!

The dvd come with menu chapters and a home made cover.

Here�s a nice audience recording that I have not seen in wide circulation, so it might be new to most of you. I do not know the lineage, but I received my tape in a trade in early 1986, so there are probably only a few cassette generations in there. It has a full sound with no audience interference, but is probably about a B+ at best. Give the sample a try.

The show is well played and straightforward. The band pretty much stuck to business, and did not say much or play any odd covers. But I haven�t heard too many �84 shows that sound as good as this, so it�s a nice one to have.

Saw a lot of great R.E.M. shows over the years but this one always stuck out. Friends had gone to the four previous shows in California at a time when the band's taste for the Golden State was, how shall we say it, yet to be acquired. Those shows were good, but leaving CA for AZ must have had a positive effect, as the show in Tempe was a stunner, boasting some unusual set-list inclusions among them "Boy (Go)," a song Stipe sang on the Golden Palominos album, several terrific covers (see above), a rare-for-this-tour audible of "Radio Free Europe" and the always rare "Underneath the Bunker."

This is a mono recording, done with a single Nak 300 mic. I did circulate this show privately to some R.E.M. collectors several years ago, but it deserves, in my opinion, wider distribution. Hear for yourself in the MP3 sample below.

I picked this show up on cassette in the early 90s from a small
record store here in Toronto that used to sell cassette boots.
Don't have much information about it, other than it is an
audience recording.  I'd probably give it a B- rating as it sounds
as though it was recorded far back from the stage.  If anyone can
provide an upgrade to this recording, please share...
