Wilco Books Fall Trek, Tweedy Solo DVD Due

Wilco will escape the recording studio for a dozen October dates, several of which are on college campuses. In addition to previously announced dates at Indiana's Purdue University and at the Tall Stacks music festival in Cincinnati, the group will also visit Springfield, Mo., Oxford, Miss., and Latrobe, Pa.

Tickets for the majority of the shows went on sale today and are available through links on Wilco's Web site.

As previously reported, Wilco's Glenn Kotche and Nels Cline are hitting the road together in September in support of their most recent side and solo projects. As for Wilco's new album, it is expected in the spring via Nonesuch.

In related news, Jeff Tweedy's 2006 solo tour will be chronicled on the upcoming live DVD "Sunken Treasure," due Oct. 24 via Nonesuch. The film was directed by Christoph Green and Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty, the team behind the live performance DVD series "Burn to Shine."

Footage was assembled from shows in Seattle, Portland and Eugene, Ore., Arcata, Calif., and San Francisco and includes a blend of tracks recorded by Wilco (both on its own and with Billy Bragg), Uncle Tupelo and the side project Loose Fur. Wilco members Nels Cline and Glenn Kotche, who opened shows for Tweedy on this tour, appear on a handful of songs. "Sunken Treasure" also features the previously unreleased track "The Thanks I Get."


In addition, all the songs will be available as free MP3 downloads to anyone who purchases the DVD. "I felt as if Jeff hand-delivered a great film to us," Canty says. "Every night was different and brilliant in its own respect.

Habe mich tats�chlich dazu hinrei�en lassen, die DVD bei wilcoworld.net vorzubestellen. Trotz der unversch�mt hohen Versandkosten . Da war ich wohl nicht ganz richtig im Koppe . Naja, nun ist es eh zu sp�t. Irgendwann Anfang November wird die DVD dann hoffentlich eintrudeln und sie hat gef�lligst nichts weniger als absolut gro�artig zu sein.
Bin ja auch mal gespannt, ab wann man die zugeh�rigen MP3s runterladen kann.
Dann sollte auch endg�ltig Schluss sein mit Plattenkaufen dieses Jahr. Wobei, die DM Best Of kommt ja auch noch und ob ich die vom JU zu Weihnachten kriege , wohl kaum .

Und nach dem ersten Reinh�ren ist sie grandios. (Ist wohl auch das Mindeste, wenn sie mich schon so lange warten lassen).

Hab ich noch nicht ausprobiert, d�rfte aber kein Problem darstellen.

Meines Wissens galt das mit den Downloads nur f�r die bis zum 21.10 vorbestellten DVDs.

Ewig. Lag aber daran, dass sie kurz vor Versanddatum auf einmal feststellten, dass nicht nur Amis bestellt haben und sie dann europ�ische Versionen noch besorgen mussten. Die wurden am 11.11. verschickt. Aufgrund der tollen Organisation hab ich die amerikanische Version aber auch bekommen.

2 Songs mit Schlagzeug und einmal im Duett mit Scotty in der Garderobe.
Haupts�chlich. Ein paar von UncleTupelo sind dabei. Davon hab ich aber keine Ahnung.

Download funktioniert. Sind nur leider Zip-Dateien und WinRAR macht �rger. Die Testversion ist zu alt. So�n Mist.

Neues Album
Wilco wieder im Studio
Wilco arbeiten im heimischen Chicago am Nachfolger ihres 2004er Albums A GHOST IS BORN. Gemixt wird die noch unbetitelte, von der Band selbst produzierte Platte einmal mehr von Jim O�Rourke. Als Ver�ffentlichungstermin ist Mai 2007 angepeilt.

Auf meiner DVD ist ein Ordner "Extras".
Wenn man die darin befindliche Datei "Extras" mit dem QuicktimePlayer �ffnet und man gerade im Netz ist, wird man sofort auf die Seite geleitet, von der man die Mp3 runterladen kann.

Wieso? Was zeigt er denn an?

M�sste doch aber letztlich funktionieren, oder?

Ich hatte ja per Mail noch mal nachgefragt, als ich versehentlich die Ami-Version bekommen hatte und sie haben anstandslos, als sie mein Problem endlich verstanden hatten, die zweite nachgeschickt.
